Just off rue Etienne Marcel and the Quartier Montorgueil, this wonderfully atypical duplex apartment is located in one of Paris's most central and fashionable areas. Many of the city's most famous attractions including the Louvre, the Pompidou Centre, the River Seine, and the Marais are all within walking distance. The nearest métros are only 2 minutes walk away at Etienne Marcel or Chatelet both of which enjoys direct links to the airports.

The "Quatier Montorgueil" used to be a hub for the textile industry but has now become a central magnet for the young, fashionable and artistic. It is not hard to fall under the charm of its village atmosphere which has made it one of Paris's most sought after areas pushing real estate prices through the roof. Its white marble streets abound with fashion boutiques, trendy restaurants, bistros and bars, boulangeries, cheese shops and delicatessens.

Situated on the forth floor (with lift) of a 17th century building, the apartment sleeps 5 in two double bedrooms and one single. There are two bathrooms. It's owned by a fashion designer and has been decorated with a style that is both modern and warm.

You enter the apartment into an open-plan living and dining area (26ft3 x 17ft6, 8m x 5.3m) which boasts white wooden beams and a contemporary "SkimStone" floor. It has been furnished with a large 3 seater sofa, two poof style chairs, large rugs and a Moroccan style coffee table surrounded by large cushions.

There is also a working wood burning fireplace, a dining table that seats 6, a TV with cable channels (including English speaking CNN and BBC), a DVD player and a computer (which you are welcome to use - or bring own) with broadband internet access.

A small corridor leads from the living area and links the kitchen, two of the bedrooms and the bathroom.

The open-plan kitchen, separated from the living area by a peninsular unit with wooden work top, has all the expected appliances including a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

The first bedroom (9ft4, 11ft6, 2.85m x 3.5m) has single bed (140 x 90). There is also a TV and a DVD player.

The second bedroom (3.59 x 3.52) has a double bed (4ft7, 1.40m), a desk, a TV and a Hi-fi.

The main bedroom and second bathroom are located on the first floor up a small circular wooden staircase. There is a true feeling of privacy as they are completely separated from the rest of the apartment. The bedroom (11ft8 x 9ft10 ,3.55m x 3m) has a double bed (5ft3, 1.60m) a TV, cupboard space and Velux windows. The en-suite bathroom has a large overhead shower and basin, and has been decorated with small marble tiles throughout.

The bathroom is situated at the end of the corridor and again has been decorated with small marble tiles throughout. There is a bath tub with hand-held shower and a basin. A separate loo can be found just next door.

This truly colourful and lively "quartier" has a true atmosphere of conviviality. You have everything at your doorstep. One of the best food markets in Paris (rue Montorgueil), Cinemas within 2 minutes walk away (Les Halles), Fashion boutiques (rue Etienne Marcel, rue Tiquetonne), and some great restaurants and cafés. Try the La Bocca on rue Montorgueil for some excellent Italian cuisine or if you would like to try something a little more traditional try L'Escargot also on the same road. The name gives it away!
